Anaya's story

Imagine having a baby who needed a life saving heart operation and as the parent you were unable to accompany the child. This beautiful 7 month old baby girl and her family are from the Gaza Strip. Due to political issues her parents were unable to travel to An-Najah University Hospital, Nablus, Palestine with Ayana*. Now imagine your great-granddaughter needing urgent open heart surgery but you were the only one allowed to travel from the Gaza Strip to Nablus with her. So you took her in your arms to get the surgery she needed.

Our lead Surgeon Dr Ramana Dhannapuneni is pictured with both the great grandmother and her great granddaughter. Baby Ayana* was our first patient of 2019 to have a heart operation. She will be reunited with her family when she is well enough to leave hospital and travel back to the Gaza Strip. This camp was sponsored by Team 1c, Liverpool in honour of Thomas.

What our partners say

The support we receive from our corporate partners is of huge importance to our charity. We are proud to work with large organisations as well as smaller companies who choose to place their charity activities at the heart of their businesses. The one aspect that underpins them all is a big heart and a keen desire to help save children lives.

Team 1C is a group of parents whose children were born with a cardiac condition and are under the care of Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. Team 1C actively support our charity by holding various fundraising events. Since their launch in March 2018 they have raised over ÂŁ50,000 – funding a total of 8 camps.

Claire Cathcart - Founder, Team 1c, Liverpool

“As parents we know how it feels to have a critically ill child, but thanks to the NHS we have never had to worry about the cost. Therefore it is our primary aim to give something back and help children less fortunate than our own.”

Edith Murphy Foundation is a wonderful organisation that has chosen to support our charity for six consecutive years.

Kam Ubhi - Volunteer, Healing Little Hearts

“It has been heart warming to receive continued support from Edith Murphy Foundation.”

De Montfort University support Healing Little Hearts through the UN sustainable development goal. They have signed a 3 year agreement to send final year nursing or recently qualified nurses on 6 camps around the world every year. In addition, DMU have agreed to sponsor a camp in 2019 and 2020.

From Healing Little Heart’s perspective having a colaboration with a unversity of repute is a recognition of the quality of work our charity does and is a real boost to our global ambition.

One Kind Act decided to choose Healing Little Hearts as a charity to support as they shared the same ethos as HLH – a charity that would improve the state of humanity for poor people and make a difference in their lives. Their support has been through the provision of grants and have funded 3 camps within the first 6 months.

Amit Chohdha - Grants Trustee, One Kind Act, London

“We at OKA continue to be inspired by the work Healing Little Hearts carry out and are delighted we are able to continue supporting the charity.”

Fischer Energy chose Healing Little Hearts as their charity of choice in November 2018. Fischer Energy is running a charitable campaign called ”New Sign ups“. This campaign encourages their new customers to donate a sum of money to our charity on a new energy contract. For every donation given, Fisher energy will match fund that amount.

Keith Bastian - Director, Fischer Energy, Leicester

“As a family run business we believe in giving back. We want to help a local charity that has a global outlook. We feel we can help raise the profile and additionally raise funds to support the lives of the poorest children in the world.”
