How we work
On average, every 2-3 weeks we send a team of 8-10 specialist medical volunteers to the developing parts of the world. We travel across 3 continents to 9 countries. Our mission is simple – to save the lives of the poorest children in the world.
We do this by offering FREE heart surgery to those that need it the most. Each team stay for an average duration of up to 7 days and operates on up to 12 children. We have operated on up to 26 children on some of our camps.
The cost to send one of our teams on camp is approximately £6,000. This covers flights and 2-3 star accommodation for a team of 8-10 medical professionals. Therefore, the cost to give a child a new lease of life is only £500-£600.
We believe in empowering the local doctors and nurses and building local capability. Our teams impart their knowledge and skills to the local teams by working hand in hand with them and also by holding CME’s Continuing Medical Education programmes. Thus empowering them to create self sustaining hospitals. Our medical teams are a united nations effort – recruiting from UK, France, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, Serbia, Lithuania, India, UAE and Australia.
